Churches
St Augustine’s - Beacon Anglican Church
Lucas St, Beacon
St. Augustine's Beacon was built on 4 September 1957, after many
years of worshipping in the old CWA building. In 1997, following
a bequest from Mrs. Mena Medlin, the porch/verandah area was built
on to the original building, and this was well received by
all worshippers.
After the last stipended priest departed, ministry was provided by a then new initiative called T.E.A.M. where local congregation members were trained and ordained to serve locally. In Beacon, ministry was provided by local priests,
rev'ds Peta and Gerry Kirby from 2000 to 2007. Peta and Gerry have since resigned from local ministry.
Mrs Ruth de Jong is the local contact person for Beacon Anglican Church.
Until recently Beacon congregation belonged to the combined parish of Mukinbudin-Mt. Marshall which has since been dissolved by the Diocese of Perth. The individual centres of that former parish are now all grouped under Merredin Parish, and the Archdeacon of the Goldfields, the Ven Paul Vincent Cannon.
Any enquiries for Baptism, Confirmation, Weddings, Funerals or hospital visiting should now be made through Merredin Parish on (08) 9041 1086.

His medals were sent to his next of kin in Scotland in 1953.
Jack Oliver Street had a farm with his father William at Ballidu. After the failure of that farming enterprise, he came to Beacon and worked for Harry Dunne. He joined the Army from Beacon. He was killed by the explosion of a Japanese artillery shell on the Malayan Peninsula on the 5th February 1942
Vernon Halloway Hardwick was the son of Harry Guy Hardwick of Mandiga. Vernon farmed Location 3021, south of Dalgouring.
