Beacon Primary School is located on Broadbent Street and comprises of a main building (3 classrooms), a Library/Information Centre, playground areas, a Botanical Garden, sheds and a dirt oval. The uniform colours are royal blue and yellow with “Truth Is Light” as the emblem and motto for the school. The current school population is 43 children from kindergarten to year 7.

The school offers a varied and rich learning program across all eight learning areas, delivered by 2 full time teachers, a Principal and part time teachers. Special needs and multi-aged classes are addressed by the use of teacher assistants and creative timetabling.

As a small rural school we are involved in regional sports programs such as swimming, athletics and cross country running. To further enrich the curriculum, PEAC courses are available through the Midlands District Office via online and on site activities. Children who live on outlying farms are eligible for a subsidised bus service to and from school.
External agencies such as speech therapy, OT, mobile dental clinic and Student Psychological Services regularly visit the school.
